Stahley's - around for 45 years

Important, Technical, note: I realize the video quality may be low due to lighting. They are included so you can at least hear what the band sounds like. You can get an idea of what it will be like if you go to a show.
Stahley's was my last stop on Saturday. I have seen Alias a few times. Tonight, even though I could not do a full review, I still paid attention. I arrived about half-way through their second set.
Quick layout of Stahley's. Enter through door facing parking lot. Walk up stairs. Go through second door. Bar is on your left. Straight ahead is area for bands / dancing. Hang a left, tables in the center. Booths lining far wall and in the back.

When I arrived, about 70 people were there. The band was going strong playing a mix of rock and dance. The dance section only had a few people on it. I did the usual, waited for a space to walk through and headed to the back. The tables in the middle were full. Booths had people into the back section.
Important Note: I will not be doing a full review, due to lack of the band's ability to go out into the crowd. Onto a quick breakdown. Starting with the high points first.
Like I said, Alias is a combination of Rock / Dance cover band with a very rare original. Even though the dance floor started light, it picked up as the set progressed. The band knows an important point about people on the dance floor: rotate it out. What do I mean? Change up the music. Go from fast to slow / Pop to Alternative. Reason this is important? It gives people a chance to take a break and others to move onto the floor. At points, the dance area was packed with people. On the next song, it emptied off. I could tell this was intentional.

Another high point with the show was music variety. Not only did the band throw in a slow song for the couples; they also mixed up the songs / groups. Who remembers The Hooters from the mid-eighties? Alias does. On the cover side, it was hit and miss, like most bands. Some songs were good on vocals / music, others really missed. Even taking into account they did not want to do exact covers.
Back to the Dance Floor / Crowd Interaction / Crowd Response:
It seemed like the band was more focused on the music vs. crowd interaction. Again, I am 50 / 50 here. Playing a lot of music with little crowd interaction can backfire. At the Stahley's show, it seemed to work. The crowd interaction was met with a mid-level response. The crowd reaction was also mid-level. Playing straight through at times, showed the band knew how to read a crowd. Everyone was pretty much there to just have a good time, dance and drink.

Overall, Alias had a good show. People responded by packing the dance floor at times and clearing at others. Music variety was good with a few surprises thrown in. The Halloween Bash went well. People were dressed in costumes and having fun. What I expected. Yes, I did enjoy myself also, had a Diet Coke.
