Allentown farmer's market
More than a quick snack here. I was at Mayfair and getting hungry. Always looking to try something different, I noticed they had a stand open. Figured a pretzel would hold me over. I did not expect several variations.
As I looked over the choices, I noticed very few pretzels that were the normal type. They had samples availble. The main one was cheesesteak pretzel. You heard me right, a cheesesteak wrapped in a soft pretzel! I tried the sample and found it very good. I did get one on Saturday. The main type that caught my attention? Cheese dog pretzel. Could not resist.
How did it taste? A lot better than on a bun. The hotdog was wrapped with melted cheese and surrounded by a soft pretzel. It was not cheese from a jar either. Went back a little later for seconds. I did mention a cheesesteak one.
That one is a true cheesesteak. The meat was chopped fine. Again, surrounded by real cheese and a soft pretzel. Honestly, I am getting hungry while writing this. They also have several other choices. Yes, if you just want a plain pretzel, go for it!!!
If you are in the Allentown, Pa area on the weekend. Stop by the Farmers Market and check them out. See if I am right about the review…
