I wanted to give you a few ideas on submissions. Why not post the memories of the holiday season? These are from the personal and professional side. Not all are from living in the Lehigh Valley.
Professional: 2012
The first year I covered the Lehigh Valley during the holiday season. Deciding, last minute, to head out to Bethlehem and cover Black Friday. The shock and amazement of how Main Street looked. Like going back in time over 100 years. Not realizing the tree lighting was on that night. How much I smiled and laughed that day.
Tree lighting ceremonies in Whitehall / Catty / Allentown. Each one having something different. Being special in their own way.
The entire season, going to different areas and trying to take in the full experience. I will not forget the first live theater I attended: Every Christmas Story Ever Told... And Then Some. It is very rare I laugh that hard.
From the personal side: Too many to list.
Snowing on Christmas Eve 2012. I think that was the first time I have ever experienced it. Walking through Coplay and remembering Christmas Eve's past. Visiting the grave of an old friend. Asking her to let my wife know I wish her a Merry Christmas.
2006 in North Carolina.
The last holiday season with my wife. The decorations, music, food. Christmas eve, with the lights out. Our pets with us. Sitting with her. Christmas music playing. Waiting until midnight when we could open our presents. A train and miniature village underneath the tree. It was perfect.
Believe me, there are many more.
