House of Fun Slots
I did the Windows 10 upgrade from 7. I heard a lot of negative comments about 10, but, I wanted to get back to doing software / app reviews. 2 years ago, I did have a laptop with 8.1 and loved it! The current laptop does not have a touch screen and still love Windows 10. Probably got used to the tiles from my phone. Quick tech down, time for the review.
There are a very few games on Facebook I enjoy. House of Fun Slots is one of them. After the Windows 10 upgrade, figured the House of Fun app would be the same, but offline. First, major, difference.
To play the House of Fun app, you have to be connected to the internet. One downside for me. When I am on the laptop playing a game, prefer to do it offline. Like the Facebook version, you start with 2 slots open and, as you level up, more become available. This leads to the second major downside.
Instead of downloading everything right off, as each slot becomes available, you have the option to download. Not really a big deal over high speed connections. It can be annoying at times and lead to a very large file size. For most hard drives, this is not a problem. It can become one for tablet users.
A third downside? The amount of ads to try and get you to spend real money in the game. There are more ads in the Windows 10 version than Facebook. I had 5 pop up in a row before starting a game. I realize the company needs to make money. We get the point after the first one or two. Personally, if I wanted to spend money on slots, would just go to a casino.
Overall, the House of Fun app is fun to play. Like the Facebook version, there is a very wide variety of slots open as you go up levels. I like this because the same ones do get boring after a while.
If you can put up with having to be online to play an app game. Plus, deal with the ads, I seriously recommend House of Fun. It is one that will be staying on the laptop. The game is a great distraction and break. At times, also good stress relief. Look it up in the Windows 10 app store and give it a try!
