Christine's Bakery House / Coplay, PA

After seeing Chris at Celtic Fest, I decided to head to Coplay and check out her restaurant. Chris did have another one years ago at the same location: Chris's Place.

Impressed with the name, that was only the beginning. Walking in, the layout is even more impressive. Chris used all of the floor space very effectively. A small kitchen leaves room for more seating and a relaxed atmosphere. A separate more convenience store area provides a one stop location for breakfast / lunch and what you need to get through the day.

Onto the menu...
Christine's focuses on breakfast and lunch. The menu is fairly small but has everything most people would want for a quick stop. Prices? I had 2 eggs (sunny side up) / homefries / toast / coffee: $4.88. Not bad on the price and a good value for the money.

I think the most impressive aspect is the level of service! Both the waitress and Chris were extremely friendly and the waitress checked back several times to see if I needed anything.

Place Christine's Bakery House very high on your list of places to eat. The combination of food quality / price and service easily earns it!

Oh, exact location: between 9th and 10th on Chestnut St. Coplay PA

Right now, stop by Race and 2nd sts. in Catasauqua for a community yard sale until 2. The weather is perfect and you can even grab a hot dog / soda to help the K-9 unit. Or how about a coffee and some baked goods to help an orphanage in Hati?

You could not ask for a more perfect night to kick this off!!!! Great music on the stages and Wooden Match. A lot of people are here already. There is traditional (Shepard's Pie) and regular (fries) food. Of course, beverages, especially of the adult variety. Trust me, you will have a great time! You never know, maybe pick up your first kilt?????

This one is personal for me. I survived it in April 2010. Bike clubs, cool car show and food / beverages are all here. Nature gave a perfect late summer day! You can help this serious cause and maybe save someone's life. From experience, this is always the last choice. Sometimes, you hit the point where everything you loved and believed in is gone. You have nothing left to fight for or with.

Hammerhead Lounge /Northampton, PA

With 2 bands left to go there is still great food and fun happening outdoors!!!! The weather is perfect and things will be moving inside with Another Lousy Cover Band at 10. The great food includes: pulled pork sandwich $3.00 / 1 lb plate of food 5.00 / seafood  combo $8.50 and seasoned fries $2.50. From personal experience, you get a lot for the price. Taste? Both my dad and myself agree: very good! This is happening until around 1 am. Looking for something to add on to your night? Head over it is worth the $5 cover!

Still going on until 7 tonight! A first for the magazine and great way to spend part of this beautiful day. :) Honestly, I did not know what to expect. The combination of KITT (Knight Rider) and the Delorean (Back to the Future) outside gave me an idea. For adults, get ready to feel like you are a kid again. For kids, get ready to have serious fun and get a cool media history lesson.

Fan Fest combines all the elements I was thinking of. My only experience has been the TV Show Heroes of Cosplay. Yes, this was another wild factor! I had the chance to talk to and interview some very friendly artists and even have conversations with a few celebrities.

As I am typing this there is a huge smile on my face and I had a very fun time. If you are in the area, stop by and check this inaugural Fan Fest 2014!!!! It's a $10.00 admission for adults. Trust me, from someone who is usually serious, it is easily worth it for everyone.

Thanks for your support of the magazine. Be safe in the night and always, Michael Phoenix

Trinity UCC / Coplay, PA

This year's Relay for Life, once again, includes Team Woohooers. Right now there is a bingo event to help the team reach it's goals for raising money. About 50 people of all ages are here to play some bingo, have a great time and help out. A basket raffle with several prizes donated by individuals and companies including Giant and Lehigh Valley Ironpigs.

I had a chance to speak with Team Woohooers co-captain, Vanessa. She informed me this is the second year for the team and last year they earned the bronze for fundraising. This year they are going for the gold!

If you like bingo or want a way to spend a slightly chilly spring afternoon, it's warm here with hot dogs / beverages / snacks. I have heard the word, BINGO! several times already. :)
