Artists: Tina Cantelmi Bradford (left) / Randi Keeler Sigafoos (Right)
I first saw Tina's work at an exhibit opening at the Twisted Olive in Bethlehem. Her combination of adding a surreal element to a realistic place really caught my attention.  I know, how can jewelry be abstract? It is something you wear. That is an easy question to answer when you look at it from the artistic standpoint.
Handmade jewelry is almost always abstract. It is usually created from the artists imagination. With a focus, to one degree or another, on how it will look when worn. When looked at as more than an object, handmade jewelry can almost take on a life of it's own.

Randi's work emphasizes these concepts. The combination of imagination and practicality come together in a great combination. Randi is not afraid to push some limits in design. Not too flashy, but, even with necklaces definitely drawing attention to piece. Using a typical male standpoint here: drawing attention up from the chest level instead of down. Some designers almost intentionally do the second part.
The overall exhibit was very well put together. With the art and jewelry complimenting each other. Both taking reality and adding the element of almost forcing you to use your imagination. Definitely check out the work of both artists. You will not be disappointed. Also, take a few minutes and look at the art. Use a little bit of your imagination. What do you see?
