Jurassic Park Builder / Facebook
I have always loved dinosaurs since being a kid. Yes, I did love the movies. Jurassic Park Builder was a natural draw for me.
The game is another one in the city builder / simulation genre. After playing several they can get boring and repetitive. Follow the quests, build up your city / island. After a certain point, go in once or twice a day and that is it.
To a point, the same applies for Jurassic Park Builder. I have another account where I am at level 35. For this review, my alternate one created for doing game reviews.
Like most city builder / simulation games, expect to spend about an hour or two burning through quests at the beginning. Exciting and fun right off! You start at an island and have to build it up with decorations, buildings and of course, dinosaurs!
Like I said, fast and fun start to the game. Tutorial that gives you a solid idea of what to do followed by the start of quests to keep things moving. These quests do their job at the start. Currently level 7, I hit the point where there was nothing to give me experience and things kind of stalled out. Here is when you can get a little creative.
The first time I played this game, decided to jump around and ahead a little. No quests? waited until I had enough gold and bought another section. Game tip: sometimes this will create another mission, other times not happening. It will help you get to the next level where at least one new missions will pop up.
The game can get boring and repetitive like most games in the genre. Here is another game tip to break the boredom. Use the battle mode if you need gold or food and for some extra experience. You have to have level 5 dinosaurs to enter.
The main characters do talk to each other just like the movies. This does add a story line aspect to the game and makes things a little more interesting. In addition to the Battle mode, you can earn special dinosaurs through Tournament mode. The game does have the ability to make purchases with real money. On the other account, at level 35, I have not found the need to use this. If you have a few bucks, it does help the developers.
Overall, this is an average game. If you like dinosaurs or the Jurassic Park movies, you will enjoy it. Otherwise, I can only give it an average game. There is nothing that really stands out about it. The story line does progress at times, but no enough. It is a great games for kids who want to learn about dinosaurs! There just is not enough excitement or different aspects to set it apart from other games of this genre. Or earn it a high rating at this time.
