Get ready for a serious challenge
When I see any games that are Lego, immediately goes to the top of my list. Lego Hero Factory / Invasion from Below looked like a fun game to play. After downloading, immediately jumped into it. Not what I was expecting.
This game is a side scrolling game. Side scrolling means you look at everything from either the left or right side and can move left / right / up / down or any direction in between.
The video sequence to start the story really caught my attention. The developers put some serious attention into creating a great and believable story here. After the opening video (which you can skip), time for the game.
There are 2 modes in this game. Story mode which takes you through different cities and areas. Battle mode which is you against a main computer opponent. Story mode is a little different than most games. You have a limited number of chances. Then, wait for the time to expire for the next credit. Battle mode is a great way to kill the time in between.
As you fight battles, you can earn Hero Points (also purchase) to decrease time, better heroes and different main enemies.
Honestly, I thought this game would be an easy time (and stress) killer. Figured, could blow through the story not a problem. I was wrong. In story mode, it is a serious challenge. Minor enemies are constantly coming at you. You have to find 3 different parts in cubes to build the power suit. You need the power suit to take on the main boss and move onto the next stage. To top that off, there is a limited space of 2 levels to find everything. I have been playing video games since the 1980's. Invasion from Below ranks fairly high in this area.
Before I forget, game controls are the arrow keys (my laptop) and space bar to fire.

Overall rating / review
I highly recommend Lego Hero Factory / Invasion from Below for the more serious gamer.
Challenge factor is the main reason for this rating. Honestly, in story mode, I get my ass kicked a lot. Before I make it to the main boss for that level. The higher number of enemies you have to fight is the challenge.
Game tip: keep moving and try to time your jumps to land on the enemies.
Battle mode can be fairly easy depending on your hero and boss you are fighting. Story mode is the hard (and possibly frustrating) part of the game.
Graphics / video sequences / story are another great part of the game. I love it when the developers place serious time and focus on these aspects. It makes a game more appealing to the wider audience. In other words, people like me who like an immersion factor.
Give it a shot and see what you think!
