Letter to Santa
In case the text is hard to read. First published during the holiday season of 2013.
Dear Santa,
I don't know if you remember me. The last time I wrote and believed, I was a kid. This year, for some reason, I believe in you again. I believe in your magic.
There is no doubt you are very busy this time of year. I will try to keep my wish list short. What I want is not something you can make or buy. Considering how close it is to Christmas, this list is mainly for next year. I realize it is beyond what you can do, but I have to try. It is Christmas, the only time of year I believe in magic and miracles.
I really hope you are not expecting grown up toys. No chance on this list. Here goes nothing.
1) People to start saying Happy Holidays or Merry Christmas more often.
2) People to remember what this Holiday season is about.
3) People to forget about their differences.
4) Everyone to notice the small things that make this Holiday season special and different.
5) To focus less on buying something in a mall and more on finding something special.
6) This last one is for myself. I know it is not possible. To spend one more Christmas Eve with my wife. Decorate a tree. Have a train and Christmas village underneath. The train surrounded by presents. Around midnight, turn off all the lights. Leave on the tree. Hold her in my arms.
Like I said, I know this wish list may not be possible. I had to try. Thanks for reading it. Have a very safe journey this and every year! :)
Santa,
To you, your family, friends, elves and their families: Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!!!
