The Mixx nightclub / allentown, pa 11/09/13
Due to this being my stop, it's going to be a short one. I arrived between the 2nd and 3rd sets. Honestly, by this time, I was more into wanting to enjoy the band than reviewing. My main focus was on the video. There were 2 surprises and a serious highlight I really have to mention here.
Overall, the band did a great job.
The dance floor rotated between being almost packed to empty depending on the song. Credit here because dance floor rotation is important. Giving people a chance to take a break and others to move onto it. They kept a good balance.

Crowd Response / Music were pretty much average. The people loved and responded in between songs. "One more song" at the end. The variety was good a good mix of rock and pop, mostly from the 70's and 80's. Variety was excellent including Steely Dan and AC/DC.
Stage show / Crowd Interaction / Band Interaction rated Surprised Me! Even though they did not move around a lot; it was this and Band Interaction that caught my attention. In between songs, they joked around with each other and the crowd. Everything was relaxed and just flowed with natural conversation. At the end, Lou thanked everyone including the special guests.
Now for the surprises and major highlight!
Towards the end of set 3, 2 special guests came on stage for vocals. The first one, I never heard of: Alexis Steele. She did good on Led Zepplin. See if you agree with me.

Now for the main highlight: Sheri Bayne. I know her as an excellent photographer. I had heard about her music from a few other people. Not expecting anything about average, I did a double take when she started. My first thought: "I didn't know she had this in her!" Singing Alanis Morisette was seriously impressive. Sheri had the emotion to easily carry the song. Make you feel how pissed off she was while singing it. This is something I stress when doing reviews. Both musicians and spoken word / poets. Make the crowd feel and believe every last word. Talking to people at various shows, they agree with me. Again, agree with me or no?
Overall, I would suggest placing the Lou Franco Project fairly high on your list. Like I said, by this point, I was mainly focused on the video and having a little fun. The crowd and band interaction / surprises / music variety are what really earned the band this suggestion. The rating of average on music is due to criteria and amount of bands I have seen. If you love live music, I think you will agree with me here. After a certain point, it takes a lot to earn a high rating in this area.
Important Note: Even though I know both Sheri and Lou, this did not affect any part of the review. Learned early on in the magazine, the personal and professional are separate. My responsibility to be as honest and neutral as possible to you is my highest priority on the professional level. Without you checking out the magazine, I could review / interview every person in the world and it would not matter in the slightest.
As always, thank you for checking out the review and magazine. Above everything else: Be safe in the night and always.
Make sure you check out the Lou Franco Project. The only way to completely find out if you agree / disagree with me.
