Lehigh Valley Music Awards 16 by The Reese Twins
The LVMA’s 16 were held on Sunday March 8th inside Musikfest Café located in The Arts Quest building in Bethlehem PA. Where it has been held for the past few years. This year it was hosted by Rick Michaels of local radio station 99.9 “The Hawk” He also won for favorite commercial radio personality while his station 99.9 “The Hawk” won for favorite commercial radio station.
The evening got started when Liberty High School Grenadier Bagpipers took a loop around the café while playing. Than they had Rob Stoneback perform the national anthem on the trumpet. Children’s band No Pressure performed the tribute to this year’s youth honoree Wyatt Newhard who also along with the assists of Rock N Roll hall of fame drummer Vini Lopez played a snare drum also accompanying them on guitar was LVMA 15 winner Dave Fry. Other performances though out the night included The band Big Valley Bluegrass Jose Echeverria EZ, Thouzand, J Capitol P, Sharon Elizabeth & Jonathan Padilla performed a duet together they did a wonderful job because of technical problems they ended up doing so acappella, Hall of famer J.T. Carter song 16 candles in honor of the LVMA’s 16th “Birthday” he was accompanied on keys by June Thomas who also performered with Tower Suite who was honored this year for being a band for 40 years. ,The band Governing Murphy, also Sarah Ayers and Lou Franco joined James Supra and his band for the final performance of the evening. Special honoree Chubby Check who talked for a little bit also did a demotion of how to do “The Twist” and told the story behind it.
The LVMA’s 16 seemed to be more organized than the previous couple of years it was also fast moving this year and the break was kept quick The performers all did a wonderful job and if you want to see some talented children go check out No Pressure these kids did a wonderful job on the performance in the show.
