This is a review of the band That Being Said it is only of the first set of their show at Rivals on Friday March 14th, 2014.
The band members are:
Brandon "Ro" Remp - Keyboards/Brass/Vocals
Mike Anthus - Lead Guitars
Ed Clauss - Drums/Vocals
Scott Guman - Guitars/Guitar Synth/Vocals
Kate Mertz - Lead Vocals
Mike Dorio - Bass Guitar
The band seemed to be a tight band when it comes to the level of playing together.
The crowd energy seemed to be there the crowd was moving in their seats by the end of the set the crowd was up and dancing.
The crowd clapped after every song.
One thing that I noticed was that Kate was looking down at the lyric sheet for a lot of the first song ( this was also noticed multiple times during the set) I know that almost any singer needs help every now and then but feel that the first song you preform of the night should be one that singer knows and not where for roughly the first 20 seconds of the first song of the first set of the show has the singer looking down.
Also Kate was not really moving around the stage much at all. Which may tie in with the fact that she was looking at the lyrics.(Yes the stage is small but she could have moved around a little between Brandon and Scott because there was enough room that she could have walked back and forth especially when Brandon was singing and she was just playing the tambourine).
Each member was introduced at once during the set including stopping about half way through the set to introduce every one.
They had there ex lead singer Sharon Elizabeth come up and singer her original song Into the Freefall.(She did do a little bit of the moving around the stage)
The band does songs that are typical of most cover bands but then they also do songs that most do not cover like stacy's mom, Breakfast at Tiffanys and Tonight Tonight.
The interaction between the band and crowd was minal being them just talking to the crowd I do have to mention that the crowd was small (I credit this more to the fact that it was a 7-10 show) and not close to the band (unless on the dance floor).
Overall we would say that they Have our Attention and we would recommend them to others.
