Great Show, except for...
I have to make an Important Note here: Due to my phone not having a great camera in low light; I have to apologize for the lower quality video. I do the best with what I have. The audio is not too far off a low point I will be making. I used the same criteria for all bands.
Now, onto the review....
When I walked into the Events Center, I did not expect a DJ to be spinning the music. DJ Cap Cee was going strong on stage. Cap Cee did a great job with the music variety. He also had the crowd really going strong. Did a great job getting the energy level high and psyching everyone up for The Wanted. I also have to mention: seriously had most of the crowd dancing hard!!!! Cap Cee really had a majority of the crowd in the palm of his hand.
Pre-game show: DJ Cap Cee: Excellent! In the following categories, music variety / crowd energy / crowd interaction.
Here is where someone, very seriously, screwed up. You had a great DJ getting a crowd pumped up for the band. So, the energy very high! After Cap Cee left the stage, time to slam on the brakes! For about 1/2 hour, there was music over the speakers. No big deal, right? Dead wrong!!!! I realize they were setting up the stage. A way to keep Cap Cee spinning should have been found. The energy level seriously dropped during this time. It gave the crowd a break, but the break was not needed. When a crowd is seriously psyched up for the performance, you do not let that drop. Keep raising the level and use it. I have to admit, as expected, when The Wanted hit the stage; the crowd exploded! First major screw up down. Time for some high points and the criteria.

High points:
The highest marks The Wanted is going to receive? Crowd Interaction / stage show / energy level (band / crowd).
Starting with Crowd Interaction here. It's time for bands to get off the stage and make the crowd feel a part of the show. The Wanted did the exact opposite. They brought a few people onto the stage for one song. Check the video on this one. They really nailed this point for two more reasons. Not only did they bring females on stage, the band made them a part of the show by looking at and singing to them. Here was another surprise: I noticed people trying to hand them phones in hopes the band would take pictures on stage. Guess what? They did! This one really caught me off guard. During some hard breaks, the band had conversations with the crowd and each other.
Stage Show is next on the list. The band was not afraid to use every inch of the stage. To give you a better idea: the stage was 2 levels with a set of stairs. They were all over the place at various times. The 2 big screens on each side helped in this area. A few times, I found it hard to keep track of all the band members and where they were. I was standing towards the back of general admission section. There is another aspect to the stage show The Wanted threw in: theatrics. On certain songs, they not only sang / played to the crowd; the band members acted out the lyrics.
Like I said, there was a break for everyone to cool down in between Cap Cee and The Wanted. When the band hit the stage, the crowd's energy level skyrocketed! The Wanted used this to create and continue the other half of this loop. Quick explanation here. The band / crowd create a loop of energy. One feeds off the other. I had this confirmed by several musicians I talked to over the past year. The Wanted knew how to continue the first half of the loop. The crowd easily did their job here.
The next 2 were neither high or low points, but "as expected".
Crowd Energy / Response: Extremely high. I expect this with any major band / show. The crowd did not disappoint. The crowd's screams / dancing / applause did not back off from the first note to the last. When the band left the stage, a united: "One More Song" brought them back on.
Dance Floor: A majority of the people were moving and dancing on every song. Again, this should be normal for any, major band / show.
Know what? I am going to keep you hanging and possibly piss you off here. I decided to split this review into 2 parts. You will find out the low points and yes, there was another major one. The area(s) I really could not give an extended review due to low points. I will not forget overall review / recommendation. These will be covered tomorrow in part 2. I love keeping you in suspense!
