Great combination with a fun start...
As usual, I am reviewing the Cd while listening to it. I had the chance to see the Todd Wolfe Band live twice. The first, in 2013 at Musikfest. Second was Rivals in Easton. Curious how they sound live? Here are some video clips from the show at Rivals.
Review: breakdown
Right off, the cover really caught my attention. A photo of the band standing on a path in a barren area. The cover photo really sticks to the title.
The first track, Nuthin' But You, caught me off guard. It has an upbeat / feel good sound to it. You know, like one of those songs you listen to that automatically lifts your mood. Not so much from the 'Get up and Dance'. More like 'Get you in a good mood to start your day'.
Sunnyvale (track 2), kicks in a more country side to this band. Followed by: Locket Full of Dreams which changes the pace in music and slows things down a little. Locket Full of Dreams shows the blues side of this band in music and lyrics.
Next song, Forty Four, kicks things up a serious notch right off, at least in the beginning. Day to Day, is going back to the upbeat, feel good style. Please do not ask why on this one. The other song that came into my mind while listening to this: Day by Day / The Hooters. No clue why!
I Stand Alone (track 6) is my favorite. I loved it the first time at Rivals. I love it on the Cd. The lyrics and music blend together very well. Both times listening to this song, I think of Bob Seger; especially his earlier songs.
I am going to keep you guessing on the last 4. Time to wrap this one up.

Review: overall
Miles to Go shows the wide range and variety this band has. From the more upbeat / feelgood to blues, a little country and slight rock edge. This Cd is a good combination of pace change and genres. Most people will find at least one track they like. The band does a great job of changing pace and tone on each song. I found an absolute zero 'zone-out' factor here. In other words, at no point did any song become background music. It had my full attention. There is one instrumental, this shows off the music side of this band.
I would recommend 'Miles to Go' to almost everyone. If you are looking for a great combination of genres, styles, lyrics and music this one is definitely for you!!!
Thank you for checking out this review and A Valley and Beyond.
